Wedding gift donations
After more than 20 years together (and two postponements due to Covid) Kurt and I were married on 17th June at Kew Gardens in London. It was wonderful to have our friends and family with us as we celebrated our union.
Having shared a home together for so many years, we felt there was little need for a traditional wedding gift list. However, many of our friends kept asking for one so we wanted to try and harness their generosity in a positive and constructive way.
Like many others, cancer has touched and continues to affect both our families. We have experienced both successful treatment stories as well as the heartbreaking loss when treatment options expire.
We first learnt about Action Against Cancer and the amazing work that they do when Professor Justin Stebbing treated my brother in law back in 2016.
We want to continue to support the advancement of research into cures for cancer and so asking our friends and family to make a donation to Action Against Cancer in lieu of buying a wedding gift seemed like the perfect way to achieve our goal, and to honour the legacy of someone special that couldn’t be with us on our wedding day.
